Graphic designer Kim Yeon-joo submitted this work for the “12th Close Up,” a project that introduces new artists to the public. For this project, artists were asked to produce works inspired by either Puma or Absolut Vodka.
Kim explained that since there are no Absolut Vodka advertisements specifically targeting Korean consumers, she wanted to incorporate Korean themes in her work. You can find strong references to paintings by Shin Yun-bok, a prominent artist during the Joseon Dynasty. (source)
